-Layout-Its really important not just to waffle but to have a clear structure that is understandable to the examiners yet also shows that you have a really good understnading of the play and can connect your ideas and the best way to do this is by going in chronological order and ensuring you start with a quote that starts at the beginning of the book and link or contrast it with a quote at the end of the book that you have related to a lot of themes for example the witches verses  contrast with Malcoms speech showing restorative divine justice,erasure of women characters,importance of good kingship and more.

-Essay Plans-Instead of wasting time writing detailed essays just write essay plans that relate to themes that are interconnected so that you are prepared because you can link anything to the theme in the question as long as its relevant and you have quotes and context to support that with as that is your support framework and can be very persuasive tools when used effectively and seamlessly which is also why you need to follow LIghthubs Grade 9 structure PETAETACWL.

 Read the book/play and know the plot- This is really important as you need to have a thorough unique understanding of the book/play and poem as you can be prepared for whichever extract they give you and for the modern play where there is no extract.You will also become more familiar with quotes and as you read you will develop and see different viewpoints of the character and the plot.

 -Have a good undestanding of different techniques and unique ways in which they effect the reader-effect on mood/emotion and then link to a theme/context-this is useful for both english literature and english language so you  save time  by instead quickly scanning for these devices and you already know effect so youlle go straight to why it matters thus checking off ao2,you can also boost your argument and instills confidence as you already know what  your looking for and then you need to find what emotions it evokes like power,self identity,nature,conflict ,struggle.You can  alwys fit the word power into that  like the power of then an adverb like the futility of life or life stages like transformation or conflict.Another tip is to use the idea of extended metaphor to sound more sophisticated and to display themes throughout in order to have deeper analysis.So instead of saying the writer uses a metaphor of a mountain to show hard challenges you should say the writer uses an extended metaphor of a mountain to illustrate the uncertain trajectory of life  and how individuals have to persist in order to get to the summit which illustrates fulfillement …and then carry on this idea with other supporting evidence.If in doubt and in need of a rich,unique and insightful elaboration then I would always look to religious imagery due to the symbolism and powerful connotations which are really flexible to use with the weather,elements,nature even or a subservient nature within the text or sense of dominance or awe.

 -Sophisticated Language/seamless writing-This is important just to give your writing a sense of self-assurance  or maturity and helps your argument seem coherent and structured.You can do this over time by planning before youw rite,even just a couple of words,using precise or sopisticated terminology by reading a lot,integrtaing quotes,write as if you want to impress someone and zoom into a single idea.One tip is to write down synonyms of shows to avoid repeeating yourself and also flexible phrases to avoid wasting time that allows you to elaborate your ideas but don’t go too overboard because you need to sound like yourself to be taken seriously and show your passion-examiners like authenticity.
