How to get high grades in GCSE Religious Studies with resources
Religious Studies Study Guide-specificallly tailored to GCSE
1. Memorise your quotes-I know the general consensus is to only memorise a few but the truth is the more you memorise the more points you have as you can use quotes as points if you cant think of anything else.Use flashcards and active recall as well as memorising smaller quotes.
2. Practice Questions and time management-You need to parctice all sorts of questions in timed conditions.
Write as fast as you can so you can complete the entire paper with good quality and quantity and memorise and copy the mark scheme.
3. Be evaluative-For the bigger mark questions especially be critical and look at alternative options by looking at different denominations of the religion or if your struggling just write liberal/conservative or write a contemprorary atheist view. Use words like however, although, despite and even though to link your argument and make it be more coherent and smoother.
4. Use the structure PEEL-and then a conjunctive to shift into another PEEL this is really important for each paragrah and point you make as it forces you to make connections and a well-rounded argumnet that is detailed but also relevant to the question.
