Lesson 11-How to get high grades in your GCSE languguage with resources
-Vocab Lists- According to your exam board and specification just search the language your doing and vocab pdf/list and you should find lists or on other webistes that have lists of vocab that are common. If you memorise and target the ones you find hard by writing, highlighting and active recalling on a flashcard you should be fine for especially the listening and reading.
-Watch Language Cartoons/videos-You should note down the pronunciation and the meaning of each word as you watch it.You can watch trailers with english subtitles or vice versa or just cartoons. As I did french I found a youtube channel called FluentUfrench and they also have separate channels for different languages like German,Spanish,Russian and Chinese that break down each sentence with a range of clips from spongebob to Disney.
-Memorise 4 lines/paragraph for each topic- This is really helpful as it helps you in both the speaking and the writing where you can even reuse some of the phrases and myabe even the other two due to the words. It is also extremely helpful as it saves you time in the exam when you just need to copy it down so its best to start earlier and check it with your tecaher to ensure it has enough complex phrases or tenses.
-Do Practice Papers-So you get an idea of the layout aswell as the common questions they can ask you and you can even learn some of the common repeated vocab from attempting the questions.
-Practice your tenses-This is really important for all the exams as if you mess up the tenses then you are making major mistakes so its really important to know the different conjugations aswell as the way its pronounced for your speaking and even listening. For french I used french with Alexa and a video where they were all simplified on french learning hub, just search it up on youtube or ask Chatgpt.
